This year two of eighteen books on the short list were distinguished with this honor!

The New Akashic Records is now an award-winning book!

It is absolutely wonderful to have my literary effort recognized as a book which is thought-provoking as well as one which illuminates and re-directs thought. To be associated with the amazing minds of Eric Hoffer and Michel de Montaigne, pretty well leaves me speechless.

My new book, The New Akashic Records: Knowing, Healing & Spiritual Practice, has been named a Finalist for the 2010 Montaigne Medal!! To celebrate this achievement, I have decided to offer a copy of my book to your local library!

I want to let you know that my new book, The New Akashic Records: Knowing, Healing & Spiritual Practice, has been named a Finalist for the 2010 Montaigne Medal!! To celebrate this achievement, I have decided to offer a copy of my book to your local library! Here are the details:

The Eric Hoffer Foundation holds a book award program each year for books that are published by small and independent presses. As a book is being evaluated for an Eric Hoffer Award, a judge may also recommend a book for consideration in the more select program, the Montaigne Medal. The list of recommended books is whittled down to a Finalist List or Short List. I entered my book in the Eric Hoffer Award program and it has now been chosen as one of the finalists for this Medal. Books considered for the Montaigne Medal “are books that either illuminate, progress, or redirect thought.” Winners of the Montaigne Medal as well as the Eric Hoffer Award are announced later in April. If you would like to read more, here are a few links:

About the Montaigne Medal: http://www.hofferaward.com/HAMontaigne.html

The 2010 Montaigne Medal Short List: http://www.hofferaward.com/HAmontaigneshortlist.html

The Eric Hoffer Award: http://www.hofferaward.com/home.html

To celebrate this accolade, I would like to donate a copy of my book to your local library. Libraries have always been an amazing part of my life. The support that my local library gave me in writing my book was invaluable — I literally could not have done without all their services, especially the InterLibrary Loan program. This is how my Library Support Program works:

Send me email (info@trine.com) and let me know the name and address of your local library. If you have the name of the Director or web address, please include this as well.

I will send a copy of my book as a gift of support.

When the book package is sent, I will let you know in case you want to follow-up.

I will offer 20 copies to begin with and will increase if there is interest. Also I will include public libraries any where — the USA, Canada, UK, Australia, Japan — any where! I will also be posting a list of the libraries on my websites.

On a personal note, that I have made it this far within this book award program from the Eric Hoffer Foundation means so very much to me. When I was in high school, I use to frequent the 50 cent book bins at my local bookstore. One day I found a copy of The True Believer by Eric Hoffer which discusses the psychology and motivations of mass movements. I took it home, read it cover to cover in one sitting, and had my world completely rocked. Growing up in Oklahoma, I always thought that there might seriously be something wrong with me because I did not automatically buy in to the institutions of conservative religious beliefs that seemed to surround me. It wasn’t so much a disagreement with the concepts (though I did have disagreements), it was more about the blind belief and the willingness of many around me to take unquestioned direction from religious authority. In very concise and powerful prose, Mr. Hoffer illuminated an alternative path and assured me that I was not alone. That I, Cheryl Trine, was most certainly not destined, willingly or unwillingly, to be come a true believer. Of all the books that have passed through my hands since high school, my battered copy of The True Believer is one of the only books I still have from that time. The True Believer is securely on my bookshelf and Mr. Hoffer is held with great reverence in my heart. To have my writing in some way associated with this amazing writer and human being has to be one of the true honors of my life. Even now, teardrops of joy are running down my face and cleaning my keyboard!

You may extend even more honor if you would allow me the privilege to commerate this personal event with public action on your behalf. Thank you!!

In Joy!
Cheryl

The New Akashic Records provides a fundamentally new, yet easy-to-understand explanation of the Akashic Records. However, to really get this new view, you must accept this principal challenge: To come to your soul's truth, are you ready to step beyond what you think you know?

The principal challenge of The New Akashic Records:

Much of the information about the Akashic Records is based on sterile stereotypes which have lost their connection to the central foundation that informs and forms the Akashic Records themselves. The knowing, healing, and spiritual practice of the Akashic Records has so much more to offer than the static ideas of cosmic memory and heavenly library. Repeating these worn-out half-truths limits our perceptions and our experiences, separating us from the flow of truth and knowing that is both essential to and the primary experience of the Akashic Records.

However, to go beyond and step into new understanding requires that you accept this challenge:

To come to your soul’s truth,
Are you ready to step beyond what you think you know?

If you are ready, then now is the time to read
The New Akashic Records.

In this book, I present a fundamentally new and different view of the Akashic Records. A view from the soul which begins by understanding the intrinsic nature of energy and its flow within the infinite and eternal nature of All That Is. When we dare to think outside our boxes, we take ourselves past what we think we know into the infinite possibilities of the unknown. Only by opening to the unknown may we shift our perspectives and engage the deepest part of ourselves in our journey to understand with awe the powerful creative experience of becoming physical and spiritual beings. Are you willing to stand witness and let the unknown past your barriers?

I know that this is not everyone’s path. It takes courage to shift perceptions, especially when the shift can force us to confront our integrity or possible lack thereof. But that’s why I wrote this book. Neither you or I are alone in our journeys. We have the loving support and the attentive presence of All That Is to assist and guide us in this amazing experience we call life. Together we can find the courage to take up this challenge, stepping into the unknown like the proverbial foot off the cliff. And I think you will be surprised. You will not fall. Instead, you will find support as you learn a stronger way of finding truth and living life. In the end, I trust that you will know when you are ready.

What is your truth today?

In Joy!

Life is always borne upon seeming contradictions: good and bad, simplicity and complexity, clarity and ambiguity. Life finds motion as energy in the resolution of contradiction because in truth from the soul’s perspective there is no contradiction only balance.

Contradiction in its static view feels like it demands you choose one or the other. However, contradiction in its dynamic flow is about uncovering for yourself unlimited possibility and infinite choice otherwise obscured by the static view of either/or. As we begin to integrate our physical experience with our spiritual experience, we begin to see contradiction not as an obstacle limiting choice but as a path towards deeper understanding, experience, and empowered choice.

Take simplicity and complexity, notions which can be both obstruction and open channel. “Make it simple” can be both an understanding to find clarity and a movement towards denial. Complexity can add layers of meaning while also being its own movement toward denial. Is life better in its simplicity or its complexity? Both. Neither. One or the other?

As with any contradiction, the answer comes from following your truth. In any situation exploring contradiction helps you find the threads of your journey and helps you clarify which direction to choose. Most often, you will find that all sides have something of relevance to consider and contribute. Dynamically, contradiction is never just either/or, usually a little of both. And as you begin to look at contradiction as a journey instead of a dilemma, contradiction can also be understood through the understanding which lies secreted behind the either/or of the static view. Unseen gifts ready to offer inspiration and new possibility.

In Joy!

Sound actuates within us our creative motion seeking balance with All That Is.

Sound holds space for us to find release so that we can shift our awareness towards a deeper and stronger awareness of Balance.

Sound hums within the infinite and eternal motion of all Energy.

Our sense of Sound connects us to this motion. Though our expectations of the physical experience of sound often limits our awareness and reception of Sound.

To hear, you listen not just with ears but with heart and soul, receiving the energetic waves pulsing within the flow of All That Is.

The shift and release, also known as change, that is the Internet and the experience of the Internet is actually an interactive, dynamic system of Knowing that is changing both the Internet and all of us. The Internet shifts with each use just as each person shifts with each individual use.

The annual question from Edge.org is: How has the Internet changed the way You think? And though the editors there specifically discussed You vs. We in the question and came down on the side of You, I have asked the We question in the Akashic Records. Here’s is today’s reply:

As to your question, we would turn it around and ask: How has humanity changed the Internet? Because the shift and release, also known as change, that is the Internet and the experience of the Internet is actually an interactive, dynamic system of Knowing that is changing both the Internet and all of us. The Internet as a connected computer system creates a systemic interaction of Knowing which affects and shifts all. Knowing is being exchanged at incredible rates approaching the capacity of the brain for the first time in this current manifestation of Earth. The Internet shifts with each use just as each person shifts with each individual use.

The primary characteristic of this shift is that humanity is increasing our capacity to connect with Knowing, rather than being primarily focused on the static need to know.

While this need to know may be the initial motivation, over time the shift will be move motivation toward Knowing.

Knowing is the awareness generated at the point of balance between Spiritual, Physical and Universal Life Force at your Center of BE-ing. Knowing is an intrinsic characteristic of Energy.

In a static linear sense, use of the Internet is encouraging a dynamic, non-physical view of the world.

The Internet is the platform for moving the hologram into dynamic, energetic vision — away from the boundaries of linear chronology.

The Internet is the engine of non-locality, helping us to expand the capacity of our minds and move into an interconnected dynamic motion within the everyday experience of life.

Basically, the Internet is shifting us from static to dynamic, from fixed to non-local, from physical only to growing levels of awareness of our powerful balance between Spiritual, Physical and the divine animation of All That Is.

Ultimately, through the Internet, we are helping ourselves to step beyond the limits of today into claiming ourselves as creative BE-ings capable of divine Knowing within the infinite and eternal of All That Is.

We are complete.

My special tree stands at the crest of a hill surrounded by beautiful green grass and many other rise and falls of other rolling hills. The grass is alive with wonder and the world around my tree glimmers with hope, and dreams, and the joy of life lived.

I see my tree from afar and have trouble deciding exactly what kind of tree she is. I think because she is, in different moments, different types. Mostly she seems like a maple/aspen/ginko if only because these are my favorites.

As I move closer, she also seems to shimmer like a rainbow stretched across a pond. She vibrates with love and the whisper of her leaves and branches as they move in the breeze lifts my soul into the sun that surrounds us.

I see my tree when I want and need her presence. She blooms within and without me offering her shade and her strength.

She takes me as I am, offering her trunk as support and her roots as ground for mine. Her crown encourages me to stand up and feel with her the sun and stars.

With her and by her, I feel the earth and the heaven and as I breathe in and breathe out I feel my balance within, a balance with her, my special tree, and with the gentle flow of All That Is.

As I begin to receive this new year of 2010, I want to take time to say thank you to the amazing gifts of 2009. Gifts which I want to bring forward, gifts which support who I am and will become in 2010.

1. Thanks to the support of my wonderful husband and daughter, I finished writing my book and published it, so far with great success. The culmination of a 6-7 year process which could merit its own book! Thank you!

2. As of October 2009, I have now lived a full five decades and counting. When I was a smart-alecky nine year old, I learned about decades and promptly began teasing my mother about how many decades old she was — she had just turned three. When I hit two, she began returning the favor.

3. All the moments spent with my daughter. As she is a junior in high school, I acknowledge that these moments are numbered.

4. Beautiful Blue Bob the Beta (fish) who appeared seemingly, from nowhere, in the basement in a fully functioning tank. This is actually a backend way of saying that my husband is an amazing person who practices compassion with the abandoned Betas at Petco.

5. Angel moments too numerous to count. For me, an Angel moment is a wisp of time in which someone does or says something to me with the sole intent of providing me love and support. Lots of Angels out there sending me love. Wow!

6. Reconnecting with “lost” friends in 2009 provided a series of wonderful events which I plan to continue in 2010.

7. Limits, boundaries, responsibilities. I can probably sum up all my 2009 lessons learned into one very potent question: “What is my responsibility?” Being a person who thinks she has to do IT ALL perfectly, this one question has been a powerful reminder to me. I had lots of opportunities for this one especially late in the year. I hung a card with this question by my bed to remind myself each night before bed. I think the card will stay put for 2010.

8. Hikes and beach walks. I have been trying to think of my favorite this past year. I loved my birthday hike in Stub Stewart State Park. I also enjoyed our last visit to Cannon Beach which included the traditional beach walk, bagel sandwich and visit to the glassblowing shop. Maybe the best frame is to say how invigorating it is to live in a place like Oregon where mountain and sea are equally accessible and equally beautiful.

9. Well, I gotta say it: I am thankful that my clothes are literally getting too big! A bit of a pain when trying to get dressed up, but on the bright side, lots of opportunity for new acquisition in 2010.

10. While I am in this category: I love my new haircut. My mom, who was always after me to get my long hair styled, would be very proud — her daughter finally has a Do.

11. The new take-home bottle at SakeOne. This past year we became acquainted with the sake brewery located in Forest Grove, OR and 30 minutes from our house. My favorite is the Nama Sake, the organic elixir still in its fresh, raw state, and now available direct from the tab to the take-home bottle. The only way to get it fresher is to be offered a sip by the Toji Master (sake master) direct from the brewing vat. Talk about Manna from heaven!

12. Epiphanettes: seemingly minor flashes of inspiration and knowing which turn out to be not so minor after all. Many seeds of inspiration lovingly planted in 2009, awaiting nurturing and blooming in 2010. I know that I may be insufferable sometimes, but I have really worked on following the knowing of my heart and the truth of my soul. I have willingly staked my claim, committed while the water was deeper than neck high, and decided that believing in myself and my family is my thing to do. My purpose, my mission, my goal is the epiphanette of this moment: I am my vision, I bring forward vision. This ability is my contribution to my family and the world.

What are you thankful for from 2009?

In Joy!

Blame is of the past. Fear of tomorrow anchors you in a future that can never happen. What are you ready to let go? Or would you rather see only fear so that you are distracted from trying for your best and failing.

What do you fear?

What makes you worry?

How are you stuck in the past?

How are you stuck in the future?

Blame is of the past.

Fear of tomorrow anchors you in a future that can never happen.

What are you ready to let go?

Or would you rather see only fear so that you are distracted from trying for your best and failing.

Look your fear in the eye. Step into your fear.

Is you fear more worthy than you?

Is your life, your highest express, less than the possibility of your fear?

What happens if you decide to act regardless of your fear?

Have you considered that your life can be lived despite the presence of fear?

Sometimes releasing fear becomes an obstacle to your life.

Acknowledge fear AND live life.

Do not let fear stop you. Take back your power, focus on You and in this moment live your life.

In love and light, we are complete.

In Joy!
